Methods to heal abuse

Healing & Meditation

Sarita talks about methods, therapies and treatments to heal abuse…

…after having examined the various types of abuse in her first article: Anatomy of Abuse

Healing Birth Trauma

I have written a whole article only on the subject of birth on my blog, so will not dwell on it here. I would just like to clarify a couple of things, though. Birth can be an ecstatic and even orgasmic experience, with proper training. (Osho speaks about this at length in The Sound of Running Water and in this excerpt: Ecstatic Childbirth.)

A woman named Elena Vladimirova has made a documentary film called ‘Birth As We Know It’  which shows in graphic detail, birth as an ecstatic experience and how to achieve this, and birth as a tortuous experience and how this affects every level of our being. She also offers a process called Limbic Re-imprinting, to release the trauma of painful birth.

Other methods to release painful birth are: Cranial Sacral Therapy, Colour Light Therapy Prenatal Series, Rebirthing, and Metamorphic Massage sessions.

Recently a couple I know described their touching experience of giving birth. The mother to be went into the birthing pool and the couple began chanting Aum. The father to be gave his wife a colour light therapy treatment for opening to love. Their gorgeous boy was born as they ecstatically continued the chanting of Aum.

We owe it to our children, to the next generations and to our planet to open our potential for ecstatic birth.

The Healing Journey (one of my methods)

In my work as a Tantra teacher and healer, I am often told stories about abuse from people who would like to be free of this. Having been a sexually abused child, and having gone through powerful healing for this, I find myself able to support others to heal. Even though I know from my own experience that healing is possible, I also know that for some people it can take years of very dedicated effort to achieve such healing. It is always painful to hear the stories – and to know the long road ahead for this person who has gone through abuse to heal on all levels. I am writing this article to offer tips, which will make the path to healing easier. I will give one example here:

A man came to me for sessions. He had terrible eczema all over his body with puss oozing out of the sores. He felt disgusting and was unable to find a girlfriend because of his condition.

He told me about his past. He was sent to a school run by Catholic priests. The headmaster abused the boy sexually. The boy was very miserable about it and tried to tell his mother. She cut him off saying, “Stop complaining! Just do whatever the priests tell you to do!” This state of affairs continued for years.

I took him into hypnosis with a method I created, called ‘The Healing Journey’.  I asked him to use his imagination and to enter inside his body, beginning with the sex center, searching for his source of healing. When he entered his genitals, he found a pit with a nest of vipers. He wanted to get out of there as fast as he could, but I asked him to speak to the vipers and say, “I am on a Healing Journey looking for my source of healing. Please guide me.” (On a Healing Journey, whatever appears in the subconscious of the body, is always treated with respect and asked for guidance. This is because our body-mind always wishes to heal, and sometimes gives very shocking imagery to propel us towards release of the problem.)

In this case, the vipers replied, “There is nowhere to go. This is your home.” The man was devastated. He was ready to give up the journey then and there. I asked him to speak again to the vipers and say, “You are right. This used to be my home. But now, I have started on a Healing Journey, looking for my source of healing. Please guide me.” The vipers said, “In that case, you can go through that tunnel ahead of you.” He went into a long dark tunnel, with a faint light at the other end. He moved towards the light.

His journey took about two hours. On the way, he experienced many adventures in his inner world. Finally he emerged into the light, met his future self, a radiant old man who appeared to be very wise and full of joy. This future self gave him all the advice he needed in order to attain that level of joy.

At the end of the session he went back to the place he had started from. The vipers had gone and the cave was full of radiant sparkling crystals. Afterwards, his skin cleared up, he met a lover, and his work life also improved.

Healing is possible, even from very severe abuse. There are many ways. I will mention a few more here.

Soul Level Healing

Another method, which is very potent, is to use your imagination and rise up to the soul level, looking down at the scene of the abuse. From the soul level, you can ask the question, “Why have I chosen to have this life experience from the level of the soul?” The soul will then reveal to you why you have chosen this on a karmic level.

If you don’t feel confident about doing this on your own, you can work with a qualified Hypnosis for Healing regression therapist and they can help you with this process. In many cases people have chosen to live through abuse in their life in order to discharge some negative karma from another life. With a skilled past life regression therapist you may be able to burn through and let go of the entire abuse and cause of it, in just one session.

Re-enacting Abuse with the Healing Power of Love

Another, more controversial method can be used with a loving and intimate partner. The partner, with your permission, will re-enact the actions of abuse, as it was done, but this time it is enacted with purest love. This will pop or implode the abuse rather like receiving homoeopathic medication.

Other Methods to Heal Abuse

Colour Light Therapy is very effective in case of sexual abuse. There is a treatment designed especially for it, which I have used with people a great deal over the years and seen it works wonders. It takes only 15 minutes.

Family Constellation work is an excellent way to release cycles of abuse running through generations
