Shrila Prem Paras likes to release a new track every year on Osho’s birthday. Last year it was the track ‘Hum khush naseeb hai’ (youtu.be) with lyrics by Krishna Vedant, Londonwale.
This year it was ‘Tera tujhko arpan’. a musical journey of his life; of receiving sannyas and becoming enlightened in 2003. The notes and melodies describe the struggle, love, pain, and sweetness of the infinite love affair with God. This track is based on the silent samadhi music that descended on him while looking at Osho’s eyes and which he then played in the Samadhi in Pune.
In the spirit of a meeting of friends, Bollywood’s finest musicians, Shivamani (drums), Naveen Kumar (flute) Sabir Khan (Sarangi), Sanjay Jaipurwale (2nd guitar), met at the renowned Yashraj studios in Mumbai and in a spontaneous live flow recorded the song in a single take. This piece was born out of the moment, just as Osho speaks about.
The track was performed at the Osho Music & Meditation Festival which took place 9-13 December, the spot where Osho used to come to meditate in his young years. The song was introduced to the public by Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, who promised that he will be performing for Osho’s birthday every year.
Due to the fact that Shrila Prem Paras had worked for 16 years, first as a guitarist and later as a music composer in the Bollywood industry, he was able to call these famous artists to the stage of the festival.
As per the previous years the organizers had sought the support of the government, but this year it happened at too short notice; hence the entire event was created and sponsored by Shrila Prem Paras and the Osho Home Ashram in Jabalpur (osho-home.com). Everybody is looking forward to an International Osho Music & Meditation Festival 2023! www.oshomusicfestival.com
