Osho, 1952

This is a game of futility, now stop it! I’m exhausted, and now my feet are not responding.

When the dream of creation of the universe was still unconceived, and not even a particle of light was acquainted to the eyes of profound and endless darkness, in those primordial moments of art, we devised the plan for this futile game.

In the depths of darkness, I watched your shadow slip away. I can’t remember when the mad infatuation with your touch infiltrated my soul. And since then, burdened by the unpredictability of your closeness, I’ve been searching for you, lost in the known and unknown realms.

In the midst of the revolving galaxies and constellations, every time I saw your shadow, I felt that your escape from my grasp was impossible now. But just when I was incredibly close to reaching you, you vanished like a dream, spreading into the boundless. I’ve never understood how it happened. Yet now, there’s no desire left to comprehend, for I’ve realized that this blind longing to see the naked truth was the sole reason for this futile chase.

Oh Master! Also look towards my feet! The red hue of their blood is still wet far and wide.

My eternally unknown friend, at times, my mind fears that in the creation of the twinkling stars, did you lose the light of your eyes?

Before I merge into the eternal sleep of death, my beloved, come! Ah! Let us embrace for the first and last time, setting aside all conflicts and obstinacies. You know I’m tired and uncertain of the moment when the earth will reclaim its dust.
