Lyrics

Now you’re in my heart
Every part of me is dancing
And my little dancing wave
Disappears into the sea

Sitting in my little hut…

by Abhi

I wrote this song in 1978. I was listening to a lot of Celtic music then (as I still am) and a few of the songs that came had that flavor like Journey to Nowhere. They are like children’s songs; very simple but with little hooks and grace notes.

I wrote it sitting in my little hut in the front garden where I lived, listening to the rhythms and sounds of the Ashram, in love with all and everything. I imagine people linking arms and swaying as they sing this song.

A song with a childlike quality

by Gopal

This small song contains so much love and joy. I remember the first time I heard it, many years ago… I was in Japan leading a group. On an evening before the group, there was a music event with Osho songs. I knew the musicians. They were singing many songs and everyone could join in. It was a beautiful event and I felt the magical power of us all singing together.

Then there was one song that was new to me. It was Now You’re in My Heart. The musicians did not know who the songwriter was. I loved it so much that I absolutely wanted to make a recording of it for my project, so that more people could enjoy it.

It appears the song first made its way into the Sufi Dance / Heart Dance events in Pune. So, as part of an international community it is easy to see how a musician from Japan would have taken that song back home where it was then well received. I was lucky that I was in the right place at the right time to discover it.

I eventually found the songwriter and asked Abhi for permission to record it for our collection. I asked Basera, a very talented singer and musician from the Cologne Uta Band, if he would coordinate the recording. They had only a small studio, but he managed very well. He and Abha are the lead singers, and other musicians from the band joined in.

Now we have this very full, rich sound, giving this beautiful song a new life. I suggested the humming and I feel it adds a sweetness to the song. This heartful, joyful song almost feels like a lullaby, but still with a lot of depth and truth. In fact, my sister said, “What a lovely song! I can imagine a mother singing this to her new baby.”

Another reason I like this song so much is that listeners can give different meanings to it.

Now you’re in my heart
Every part of me is dancing
And my little dancing wave
Disappears into the sea

As the Master touches our hearts, the dancing wave can merge with the ocean, the ego can begin to dissolve into oneness… Osho often talks about the ego dissolving into the whole like a wave disappearing into the sea… Beautiful to hear that “in song.”

This little song says it all…

(This previously-unpublished song is now available as a recording for all friends worldwide, as are quite a number of songs included in this collection, particularly in Vol 5.)

A lovely musical diamond

by Abha and Basera

We love to play music from and for the world of Osho, and when Gopal asked us to record Now You’re in My Heart, there was an immediate Yes!

About 15 years have passed since we recorded this lovely musical diamond, and we clearly remember the moment we tuned into the energy of the song: Now you’re in my heart, every part of me is dancing… These words became an experience, a reality in that very moment.

We both experience that when we make music together, something magical happens, in the Now and Here. A subtle flow of bliss, a connection to our beloved master Osho, and to the sound of life itself. That’s what happened with this song also.

It’s been a pleasure to take part in Gopal’s music project. We would like to express our gratefulness for his love and trust in us as musicians, and for having the opportunity to translate the beautiful flower-like energy and meaning of this song.

Easy Is Right

by Nandin

This song by Abhi has a really light-hearted feel. That’s one of the many gifts Osho gave us – not taking things too seriously!

In this recording I like how Pravira and I share the short solo section – it’s like a dance, handing off a musical phrase to someone else. It’s such a simple song and so beautiful, reminding us that “Easy Is Right” – another quote from Osho.

I have played with Pravira and Basera a lot over the years. Pravira and I first met in Pune in the late 1980’s where we played live for Osho. We have a special bond because we’re both professionally-trained orchestral musicians, so it was easy for us to connect and “speak music” together.

When we met again in Cologne and Osho Uta (Uta Institute), we once again had fun improvising and playing music together, for Satsang, Evening Discourse, Celebrations and other events. We like to try out lots of possibilities during the quick rehearsals we have shortly before playing in public, just to find out what works and what doesn’t. Then it’s time to jump in and go with the flow!

Classically-trained musicians aren’t always good at improvising, but we love it. It is such a blissful and joyful way to make music. Being present in the moment, ready to respond to whatever happens is the key and it fills me with delight! (My sannyas name, Vimal Nandin means Pure Delight!)

It’s actually the best way to live life!
