This month’s planet transits discussed by Marga; “January marks the beginning of a very important year from an evolutionary point of view.”

Misery does not help growth; on the contrary, it destroys all the possibilities of growth. The night becomes longer and longer, and the dawn goes on receding farther and farther. Instead of having a breakthrough, you can only have a breakdown.
But there are states of mind when you are in suffering; misery is absolutely negative, suffering has a positive side to it. Suffering means you have a longing, a hope, and you are not finding a way. You are searching, but you are failing again and again. You are trying your best to come out of it – you are struggling with your suffering, you have not accepted it as your fate. Then there is a possibility that the night will end – a new dawn, a new beginning, a new consciousness.
The difference is in whether you have accepted your suffering as your fate – “this is all life is” – then it is misery. If you have not accepted it as your life, but only as birth pangs – that when you are being born you have to pass through a certain pain, but there is a future beyond pain, and the pain is going to help you to reach that state beyond it – then suffering has a possibility of breakthrough.
Osho, The New Dawn, Ch 1
The month of January opens with a very clear and structuring influence, given by the presence of two defined Channels that last practically the entire month and constitute its energetic framework. Unlike what sometimes happens, the focus is not so much on the rhythm of short transits, but on continuous underlying themes that create a coherent and recognizable climate.
January moves within a field already traced at the end of December, but with a progressive focusing on what is beginning to take shape, both on a collective and individual level.
January 1 to 31
The Channel of Community (37–40)
(active from December 26 to May 13)
As we saw last month, since December 26 the Lunar Nodes have been on the 37–40 axis, with the North Node in Gate 37 (Family) and the South Node in Gate 40 (Deliverance).
The Lunar Nodes do not normally describe specific events, but define the evolutionary context and the atmosphere within which experiences unfold. In this specific case, however, their influence is particularly relevant, because 37 and 40 form a Channel, the Channel of Community, introducing a constant energetic definition into the field.
The Channel of Community belongs to the Tribal circuit and focuses on themes of family and clan, belonging, agreements and pacts, mutual support, management of resources, time and energy, balance between giving and receiving, making significant relationships central and the way in which we position ourselves within our “tribe”.
January 5 to 31
The Channel of Cycles belongs to the Abstract-sensory Collective circuit. Gate 53 is the Gate of Beginnings (Gradual Development in the I Ching), which gives the impulse to start and initiate a new cycle. Gate 42 is the Gate of Increase, generating the energy to bring experiences to completion.
The Channel activates on January 5, when the Earth enters Gate 53, where it remains until 10 January, and meets Chiron in Gate 42. On January 6, Jupiter also enters Gate 53, strengthening the activation and carrying it forward well beyond the month of January.
This Channel brings a clear theme of the beginning of experiential cycles, but also of awareness regarding what these cycles require to be brought to completion. The joint presence of Jupiter and Chiron introduces a dimension of meaning, healing, and maturity of experiences, particularly significant for those who are over 50 years old.
On the level of the slow-moving planets, January continues with configurations already known but central to the interpretation of the period.
Pluto is in Gate 41 (Imagination), the Start Codon, reinforcing the theme of the beginning of new collective cycles.
Neptune continues its transit in Gate 25 (Innocence), a cusp gate between Pisces and Aries that speaks not only of universal love and heart alignment, but also always marks the beginning of a new astrological cycle from Aries to Pisces.
On January 28, Saturn also enters Gate 25, conjuncting Neptune and introducing a principle of responsibility, structure, and concreteness within profoundly ethical, philosophical, and spiritual themes.
January naturally also marks the beginning of a very important year from an evolutionary point of view. For this reason, the analysis of the annual movements and the main guidelines of 2026 will be explored in detail in a separate article (stay tuned with Osho News).
Happy Holidays!
