Roshani is looking for personal anecdotes and stories about experiences around sex and gender roles in the Osho communes
Roshani gives her thanks to everyone who has sent their notes and insights. She will be able to submit her piece by the end of this month, as scheduled. This request has now been closed.
Two academics in Sweden are preparing a book on ‘Sex, Gender and New Religious Movements’ and have asked Roshani to write a chapter on Osho.
She has begun research and has most of what she needs in terms of what Osho has said, but she is now looking to get her hands on personal anecdotes and stories about sannyasins’ experiences around sex and gender roles in Pune 1, Rajneeshpuram and Pune 2. (Gender in the sense of gender roles for men and women, i.e. having women as dept. heads in Rajneeshpuram or the male and the female sides we have within us.)
“It would be great if I could include some juicy first-hand accounts in this article” she says.
These are the questions:
What is your understanding of Osho’s view of sexuality?
What is your understanding of Osho’s views on gender?
Were you in Pune One? If so, could you describe your own experience with or first-hand impressions of sannyasins’ attitudes towards and level of sexuality in the commune as compared, say, to a small town in America or Europe?
Were you in Rajneeshpuram? If so, could you describe your own experience with or first-hand impressions of sannyasins’ attitudes towards and level of sexuality in the commune as compared, say, to a small town in America or Europe?
Have you been in Pune Two? If so, could you describe your own experience with or first-hand impressions of sannyasins’ attitudes towards and level of sexuality in the commune as compared, say, to a small town in American or Europe?
Could you describe any differences in gender roles in Pune One, Rajneeshpuram and Pune Two as compared to American or European society?
When did you become a sannyasin? Are you male or female?
If you have a contribution to make please send to

and we will forward it to Roshani.
