Stagnant pools are no longer stagnant at all –
They are as alive as seeds inside the soil.
Even if the stasis
has accumulated for a while,
it serves as a creative hub.

Unnoticed among a plot of grass,
a pool of stillness smiles in seven colours,
as if a skyful of rainbow had crashed upon it.

Stagnant pools are just not stagnant after all…

Blue-green algae go with the party,
splashing colours and sparkles.
Floating humus brings back
impressions of Renaissance paintings.

Bio-film on the surface
replicates the whole galaxy,
the Big Bang, the cosmic silence.

Stagnant pools are no longer stagnant…

Airborne debris settles on the water,
rejoicing like peacock feathers,
dancing like a bubble universe.

Sometimes, crumbled like incomplete words,
frames upon frames,
strokes upon strokes,
tints upon hues,
oceanic in depth,
cosmic in width,
galactic paintings challenge us in silence.

Am I overenthusiastic?
Afraid of too much richness?
Afraid of going beyond
what I might know?
Stagnant pools are no longer stagnant at all…

They show distance and close proximity, together.
They present darkness and light, hand in hand.
They brighten up the emptiness
and the wholeness, now and here.

Stagnant pools are no longer stagnant
at all.
