Gitama writes:

Last night Dhyan Prem left for the other shore… and yesterday we had lunch together at Zorba’s. He had just returned from a follow-up (of his heart attack 10 days previously) with a doctor at Inlaks Hospital, who told him that all was good (obviously not a very capable doctor…)

He shared with me the hardship of the last years during corona and how touched he was by all the love he felt from all the people around the world after his first heart attack. He said it gives him courage and energy for a new start…

Dhyan Prem felt good, just tired, so I offered him to take a rest in my room in Osho House, but he wanted to go home…

That evening he apparently ordered dinner from Prem’s and when the food delivery arrived nobody opened the door. The next morning his ayah found him.

A new start… I guess existence heard him. Fly high Didi. Thanx for all the beautiful sharings and adventures we had together in Pune, Lithuania, Afroz… With all my love fly free!

Premdip from the Humaniversity:

Our Beloved brother, Dhyan Prem, shared with us his love for Osho, Veeresh and Gurdjieff.

He filled OSHO Humaniversity commune with his laughter, spoiled us with his Indian cooking and gave us incredible massages. Most of all, his warmhearted friendship was precious, and hanging out with him was fun.

During the summer month-long group, the WOW, when all the participant where in deep emotional spaces and processes, Veeresh asked him to teach the Gurdjieff dances, getting everyone centered and grounded, a challenging task, and he always did it with a smile.

He loved Veeresh so much and us all, always taking care and bringing gifts from his travels around the world for the whole Humaniversity family. His heart so big, his love so deep!

Thank you for being in our lives, dear Dhyan Prem, now you are moving and dancing in the light. You will live in our hearts forever.

Endless gratitude and love from

Manoj writes from Pune:

On Thursday, 22 February 2024, Dhyan Prem had a check-up at Inlaks Hospital which, as he said, was good and that the doctors had suggested he get some tests done.

He had came directly to my office after the checkup. We sat together, had chai and spoke about a lot of things, amongst them about his health and assured me that he would take care of it.

It seemed he was feeling good, but after an hour of conversation and lots more chai, he seemed tired. I asked him to take rest and he hesitatingly left.

The following day I heard the news of his passing. Well, he was asked to take a rest and come back, but little did I know that this would be the final goodbye – and that he had gone to rest for life.

These last days were difficult for me to do anything, thinking of him is taking up the majority of my time.

He was such a wonderful individual, with a heart of gold.

Even now that I write this, I feel so shaken, and cannot believe that he is no longer alive.

Fly DP fly high ❤️

DP with Kashmira ModiFrom Kashmira Mody:

DP and I have several points of connect:

His good friend Urja is also my best friend and life partner.

He loves Osho and has walked the path shown by Our Beloved with sincerity – as have I.

We were both born in 1969 and have body birthdays close together.

There is one other point of connect that always shimmers between us and we rarely put words to it… our carrying extra weight on our bodies and the disappointment we feel at our inability to ‘fix’ it.

When his well-meaning friends would call him ‘mota’ or say with good intention: Why don’t you just stop eating? – I notice the flinch and the hurt in his eyes before a BIG smile comes out and then a belly laugh. I notice that suddenly he stammers more, begins to eat everything in sight, and suddenly disappears from the room or shrinks into a corner!

I notice the hope in his voice each time he finds the ‘miracle cure’ – a 21-day water fast, giving up potatoes, a cleanse or a naturopathy course – and the subsequent disappointment when the weight piles back up.

Beyond that struggle with weight and financial instability – or because of it – I know that DP seldom felt how much he was loved, how many people cared about him. I know that DP seldom felt seen or appreciated.

Yet the week before he left his body, this had begun to shift. At 10.17 am on Thursday, I had a call from him. “Beloved, wanted to tell you that I have come back from the doctor; they say all is good. I am fine – it hurt my chest when they checked me up, though. And now I want to make things differently. I want to live without  fear.”

Those who know DP, know the way he spoke, without taking a breath in lengthy monologues, and this was not any different… He continued, “So many people loving me, sending me energy. I feel I can do it. OK, send me salad. OK, I come to you for idli. OK, tell Urja I called – he is not answering his phone. OK, bye…”

And that was it… That’s where this story ends. And begins…

DP, my beloved, fly high into a world where you can see your beauty and feel the love.

Know that you touched so many lives.

I love you, Dhyan Prem, my gorgeous flashing dimples, exquisite ebony-skinned Rajah.

PS In 2022 I made a brochure for DP after lockdown to support his work. View PDF file.

Jivan Sunder writes:

My first memory of Dhyan Prem was when he had a funny haircut which made him look like a young horse and that at night he was always dancing at the Pyramids down by ABC Farms.

Of course I really got to know him when he started to be in Gurdjieff Movements – several times as a helper in the 6-week course, and also in the 10-day Intensives I used to run during Monsoon Season.

He also was a regular assistant and participant in Satori. He was always lovely to work with, and totally dependable and totally reliable.

Photos above: The one in the maroon robes is us (Smaran is the 3rd guy) pretending to be totally exhausted the day after the 6-week course had finished; and the other one is taken during one of the 10-day Intensives.

From Suparni:

He was a gentle and loving man.

Darpan writes:

Dyan Prem was, for me, a true friend, who always supported our crazy ideas and all of our projects. Every year he came to the Osho Festival in Russia, without missing a single year, even in the most difficult times.

When the idea of organizing the Osho Bali Festival arose, he was also the person who first responded and said: I will definitely be there, support and share.

He was a man with a big heart who shared everything he had: love, sincerity, innocence, playfulness.

His love and devotion to his Masters – Osho, Gurdjieff, Vereesh – were always something beyond words…

For his students, whom he taught the art of Ayurveda and Ayurvedic massage, he will always remain a wonderful teacher who shared not only the methods, but also the art of healing with the heart.

My friend, my brother, fly high.

From Parna:

Just a few days ago we hugged and said goodbye as I was leaving Pune! You looked so innocent and relieved to be out of hospital and you told me with tears in your eyes how touched you have been that so many friends cared about you. Thanks for meeting in beauty! And as a last gesture you showed me up in the tree the white paradise bird as a goodbye gift, what a message! Fly high and soar free, beloved friend! And thanks to the beautiful friends who took care of our friend with so much love! ❤️ We walk each other home…

Hello Dhyan Prem, dear friend,

we met only briefly, but it was as if we had known each other forever. I remember a starry night in Egmond aan Zee. There was you, me and Svabhavo walking on the beach. An Indian, an Italian and an Englishman. Three friends walking under the stars.

I hold you in my heart ❤️

Rest with Osho

From Aloka:

Beloved Dhyan Prem…

What a lovely, caring, special man who lived life his way. He gave so much and showed me what love and courage was like. We met in our twenties and so early on he knew what path he wanted to take, which I found so impressive. He loved to learn, travel and share with so many people he met in his life.

He left me a message on the 21st to say that he had seen the doctor as a follow up and was okay. He obviously was not.

Thank you for sharing those lovely years with me and for being in my life, Prem. You will always have a big space in my heart, Beloved Dhyan Prem, I will never forget you!

Love,

Prem Aloka

Thank you to those who were close to Dhyan Prem and to the beloveds who have shared their memories and last moments of him. I hope his Celebration was amazing like he was!
