In Chinese traditional medicine every color has an energy and a healing function. It balances and strengthens the energy of the organs. So, on the in-breath imagine that the color I’m going to tell you purifies that organ and that you then send your used energy out of that organ when you breathe out. So, the in-breath is going to purify the organ with the color and the out-breath is sending out all that used energy.
We’re going to start with the lungs and the lung color is white. So just breathe in and bring in new energy into your lungs. When you breathe out, breathe out all that used chi, and again breathe in and fill up your lungs with that white color. And when you breathe out exhale all of the used chi. And one more time inhaling, cleaning… your lungs with that white color and bringing in new energy. And then breathing out the used chi.
Now we’ll move to your kidneys, in your upper back. And the color of the kidneys is deep blue. They’re located on your back just above the level of your navel. So strengthen and purify them on the in-breath, and on the out-breath let all the murky chi leave. Breathe in, purify and strengthen the kidneys and on the out-breath all the used-up chi can simply leave. And one more in-breath, deeply into your kidneys and then on the out-breath letting go of all the used-up energy.
And now we move to the liver. The liver is located in the upper right hand portion of your abdomen. It’s beneath the diaphragm but on top of the stomach, and it has a rich, luscious, green color to purify it. So, when you breathe in, send that good green energy to your liver and on the out-breath send the used chi away. And once again, on the in-breath, inhale and luscious rich green fills your liver and on the out-breath just let go of any energy that’s used up. And one more time, inhaling that green, filling up and exhaling any used-up chi.
And now we move to the heart. In this system the heart is red. And so we breathe in red light to strengthen the heart and on the out-breath we let go of anything heavy and weighty. The in-breath โ red ruby light โ to strength your heart, and on the out-breath just let go of anything heavy or anything that’s weighing you down. And again filling your heart on the in-breath with ruby light, and letting it go on the out-breath along with any used-up energy.
And now we go to the spleen, which is located in the upper left abdomen, behind the stomach. And its color is yellow. On the in-breath we’re going to feel that spleen with pure yellow light and on the out-breath we’re going to send out all of the used-up chi. And once again on the in-breath, breathing in that yellow pure light into your spleen, and on the out-breath just letting it go. Any used chi… letting it go. And inhaling yellow, filling up with yellow, and on the exhale letting go of any unnecessary and used-up chi.
And now you can bring your hands together under your navel, on your hara, and that is where you can join all those energies together โ your center.
